242 A customer can send us their own material (COM) to apply to our umbrellas. COM yardage may vary if the fabric does not have a plain pattern or is a solid color. We cut our umbrellas from a pie shaped pattern to maximize the usage of the fabric. You will find a brief example below. If you look at the fabric and if all the "pie's" can not be used for one umbrella, you will need to double the yardage. If the fabric is railroaded, you will need to add extra yardage as well. Please contact the factory to find out the actual COM yardage required if the fabric has a pattern. Non symmetrical stripes will require additional yardage. C O M FA B r I C For example, the lightning bolt fabric pattern above would need double the regular yardage for COM since the lighting bolts would go in the opposite direction on half of the umbrella panels. Please use the chart below to determine COM requirements for plain, solid color fabrics for canopies with single vents. Contact the factory for additional yardage required for double vents or other special patterns.
