IBS PREVIEW 2015 / STORM & SECURITY PROTECTION 9 CONTACTS Paine New NLBMDA President, CEO The National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association's (NLBMDA) has appointed Jonathan Paine its new president and CEO. The announcement was made during the ProDealer Industry Summit at the organization's annual meeting October 28, 2014, in San Diego, CA. Paine has been serving as the association's executive vice president since 2012 and replaces outgoing president, Michael O'Brien, who is assuming other responsibilities with NLBMDA's management firm. As president and CEO, Paine will take charge of a Washington, D.C., office and implement board initiatives through the legislative, regulatory, educational, communications and events staff that will report to him. He will continue to work closely with NLBMDA leaders, member volunteers and the state and regional building material associations that comprise the NLBMDA federation. In 2014, Paine oversaw the introduction of a new association Web site, 100 percent member retention for associate members in the Manufactures and Services Council, the development of a new three-year strategic plan, and the launch of an online learning management system for the industry's Forklift & You operator training program. "I am delighted to take over the reins of this great association and I'm excited to bring this next strategic plan to fruition. In light of the great success of the last three-year plan, I know expectations are even higher, so the NLBMDA staff and I will continue to develop innovative solutions to dealer problems and boost the standing of this industry in Washington, D.C. and through cooperation with the state and regional associations around the U.S.," said Paine. "I have seen firsthand the benefits dealers get from coming together, and I can't wait to help push our causes forward and achieve even greater success with our advocacy efforts."
