T his year, inspired by the theme of "Creating Healthy Homes," Electrolux Design Lab encouraged students to create inspiring ideas for healthy lifestyles that are both sustainable and enjoyable. Six finalists were chosen from more than 1,700 submissions across the globe whose designs offer solutions to creating healthy homes and fit within the categories of: Culinary Enjoyment, Fabric Care, and Air Purification. The winners were chosen at the final event held in Paris, November 2014. Each year Electrolux challenges design students all over the world. The challenge was to create a concept that is relevant to the time and raises questions about what design will be like in the future. The competition in 2014 has called for innovative ideas for Creating Healthy Homes under three focus areas: Culinary Enjoyment, Fabric Care and Air Purifying. After being chosen as one of six finalists from more than 1,700 submissions across the globe and presenting to an esteemed jury of designers, Wang's Future Hunter- Gatherer was chosen as the most sustain- able and enjoyable solution for healthy lifestyles. Wang was awarded 5,000 Euros and a six-month paid internship at an Electrolux global design centre of her choice. Fulden Dehneli of Turkey was named the second place winner for the Lotus, receiving 3,000 Euros, Michael Pospiech of Poland was named the third place winner for the UrbanCONE, receiving 2,000 Euros, and Fiorella Rios from Peru received the People's Choice award for Hero, receiving 1,000 Euros.
