Faculty Positions: Accounting, Finance, Management The University of the District of Columbia (UDC), located in Washington DC, is the only public insti- tution of higher education in the Nation's capital and the only urban, public land-grant institution in the U.S. The University is also a Historically Black institution with a diverse faculty and student body. The School of Business and Public Administra- tion (SBPA) is in the process of transitioning and refocusing itself in order to assume a much greater role in the business and economic development of Washington DC and the region. Applicants should: (1) have earned a terminal degree (PhD, DBA) in their discipline prefer- ably from an AACSB accredited School (ABD with clear and imminent completion date will be considered); (2) demonstrate excellence in teach- ing at the undergraduate and graduate level in a learning-centered environment; (3) have a record of primarily applied research in peer-reviewed, refereed journals or have great promise of research productivity for those who have recently earned their terminal degree; and (4) be committed to community service. ADMINISTRATOR: ASSOCIATE DEAN The successful candidate will be academically qualified by our standards and have an earned Ph.D., demonstrated competence in teaching and research, and administrative experience. He/she will support and coordinate faculty committee work, plan and negotiate teaching schedules, assist in managing research grants, and teach a course or two each academic year. The Associate Dean manages the internal operations of the School and takes the lead responsibility for AACSB and NASPAA re-accreditation efforts. He/she will ensure excellence in every aspect of scheduling and delivery of our programs. The Associate Dean will report directly to, and work closely with, the Dean to ensure that the School's operations deliver excellent service to students and faculty. start date of June 2011.
