College of Business & Public Administration Eastern Washington University is a growing and dynamic public comprehensive university co-located in Cheney and Spokane with an enroll- ment of approximately 10,000 students. EWU offers over 100 degree programs including baccalaureate and masters degrees in business. The College of Business & Public Administration at EWU is accredited by AACSB International. The College of Business and Public Administration is currently seeking experienced individuals for the following two positions who are committed to excellence in instruction and who appreciate a student-centered, applications-oriented, hands-on emphasis in the education process. E. CLAIR DANIELS DISTINGUISHED PROFESSOR IN ACCOUNTING The college is seeking an experienced individual to fill its E. Clair Daniels Distinguished Professorship in Accounting pending availability of budget. The successful candidate will provide leadership in scholarly activities and community engagement related to the accounting profes- sion. The Distinguished Professor is responsible for teaching upper- and lower-division undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting. In addition, the Distinguished Professor has responsibilities for developing means to meet professional accounting requirements in eastern Washington. Annual teaching load will be determined each year in accord with university policies and the needs of the Department. The College of Business and Public Administration is accredited by AACSB with nearly 1,000 undergraduate majors, over 250 accounting majors and over 100 MBA students. The successful candidate will have a high degree of interest in human and cultural diversity. Qualifications: The preferred selection criteria for this position include: • A Ph.D. or DBA in accounting or closely related field; • Experience working collaboratively and effectively with members of local and/or regional professional accounting organizations; • Evidence of excellence in teaching, including an understanding of the needs of diverse learners; • Experience working collaboratively and effectively with students, faculty, administration; • Evidence of research at a level that would merit appointment as an associate professor or professor; and, • Professional certification is desirable. DISTINGUISHED PROFESSOR IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP Director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Activities The college is seeking an experienced individual to fill its Distinguished Professorship in Entrepreneurship pending availability of budget. The successful candidate will also have an initial appointment as Director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Activities. The successful candi- date will have the opportunity to continue developing a first class entrepreneurial program. The successful candidate will provide leadership in scholarly activities and community engagement related to entrepreneurship. The Entrepreneurship program has the potential to connect with area economic development agencies to enhance incubation and business development. In addition the program is building bridges to other undergraduate areas, including science and technology, to enhance diversity and stimulate entrepreneurship. The Distinguished Profes- sor has responsibilities for guiding and directing curriculum development, teaching activities in both undergraduate and graduate programs, and carrying on a professional research program in entrepreneurship-related areas. Annual teaching load will be determined each year in accord with university policies and the needs of the Center. The College is supported by a dedicated advisory board of community leaders that helps to establish broad policy direction for the Cen- ter. The mission of the Center is to stimulate, promote, and support the systematic practice of innovative enterprise entities in the Spokane region and the Inland Northwest. Exploiting existing strengths of our vibrant business community, the Center focuses on its role in the economic development process by partnering an on-going incubator (SIRTI) and Connect Northwest. Qualifications: The selection criteria for this position include: • A Ph.D. in an appropriate business discipline. (Candidates with extensive entrepreneurial experience who have doctorates in other areas may be considered); • Evidence of excellence in teaching and research in entrepreneurship at a level that would merit appointment as an associate professor or professor in the Management Department; • Experience working in multicultural settings; • Experience in development and delivery of an entrepreneurship curriculum; • Experience working collaboratively and effectively with students, faculty, administration, and members of the entrepreneurial community; • Experience or the ability to direct a center for entrepreneurship; and, • Experience in securing external grants from a broad array of organizations, agencies, and institutions currently existing to assist new entrepreneurs and small business owners.
