DEAN OF THE SIGMUND WEIS SCHOOL OF BUSINESS Susquehanna University, a selective, residential, liberal arts institution, invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the Sigmund Weis School of Business. The Sigmund Weis School of Business has a dedicated endowment and is named in honor of Sigmund Weis, one of the founders of Weis Markets, Inc. With 22 full-time faculty and 480 enrolled majors, the School offers an undergraduate program accredited by AACSB International, including majors in accounting, information systems, economics, and business administration, and further emphases in finance, marketing, human resource management, global management, and entrepreneurship. In addition, during their junior year, more than half of the business majors participate in the School's semester-long London Program. The Dean holds an administrative appointment with faculty rank, reports to the Provost, and meets with the President's Executive Staff and the University Council. A record of significant scholarly and professional accomplishments and university administrative experience, or a record of excellent executive achievement in business, is essential. An earned doctorate is preferred. The Dean must provide strong leadership in building and conducting the School's relationships with diverse constituencies, including Susquehanna University students, faculty, alumni, and the regional business community. The Dean will play a major role in the School's efforts to attract outstanding and diverse faculty and undergraduate students. U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Colleges" has included Susquehanna in its list of National Liberal Arts Colleges. The University enrolls approximately 1,900 students in the School of Arts, Humanities and Communications, School of Natural and Social Sciences, and Sigmund Weis School of Business. Degrees are offered for the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Science. Susquehanna University's 220 acre campus, noted for its beauty, is located in Selinsgrove, PA, 50 miles north of Harrisburg in the scenic Susquehanna River Valley, about a three hour drive from Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and New York City. For best consideration, applications should be provided by April 24, 2006. An application should include a letter describing relevant experiences and interest in the position; resume; and names, titles, addresses, business and home telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses of five references.
