RETAILOBSERVER.COM NOVEMBER 2015 56 B randSource has unveiled a complete redesign of its website to help members drive traffic to their websites as well as brick & mortar storefronts. The new BrandSource. com also offers a more streamlined backroom solution. "We spent two years gathering member feedback on the look, layout and effectiveness of BrandSource.com, and many of the new changes are a result of the valuable information and insights we received. Both the backroom and consumer-facing sites work equally well on both mobile and desktop formats," said Dave Meekings, president of BrandSource's technology division. CONSUMER-FACING WEBSITE The primary mission of the consumer site is to generate sales leads and drive visitors to members' businesses and websites by promoting the independent BrandSource retailer and guiding them to the appropriate member website. "We're focused on talking about how the consumer benefits from an independent retailer experience, and why that customer should seek out their local BrandSource dealer—whether online or in-store," Meekings said. BRANDSOURCE.COM CONSUMER WEBSITE OBJECTIVES: • Singular focus: Generate leads and drive consumers to member websites and businesses • Responsive platform: Optimize content for any viewing platform including a smartphone, PC or tablet • Enhanced SEO and dealer location tools: Drive more consumers to the right members at the right time – and in the right market • Promote the Independent: BrandSource.com promotes and demon- strates the advantages of purchasing from a local independent business with $14B buying power and community roots vs. a big box store BACKROOM WEBSITE With the new design, the BrandSource.com backroom is more responsive through any platform and/or interface. It's also more exciting, with enhanced organization and search functionality so members can gain immediate access to any program they need. "We've showcased the most important information up front and implemented enhanced search functionality. Because members can find what they need exactly when they need it, they'll be much more time-efficient and streamlined in their overall operations," Meekings stated. Additionally, the backroom boasts more video and enhanced media than ever, including training videos on such topics as How to Manage and How to Become a Better Salesperson. "The video educational aspects of the backroom will be a big part of the initiative moving forward," said Meekings. BACKROOM HIGHLIGHTS: • One Stop Shop: A true, centralized, one-stop source for all group, event and vendor information • Responsive Platform: The site is optimized for any viewing platform including a smartphone, PC or tablet • Enhanced organization and search capabilities: BrandSource members can find the infor- mation they need with minimal time and effort • Cleaner look and feel for easier navigation • More content, including marketing assets & video training presentations • Events section allows members to keep up with all BrandSource functions and gatherings • The new BrandSource.com backroom does not require members to get a new password or user name; all login credentials remain the same For more information, visit www.brandsource.com.
