56 SMOKESHOP December 2015 UPDATE Pipe Sutliff Tobacco Expands Super Value Blends Series with New Bourbon Whiskey, English Mixture Sutliff Tobacco, a Mac Baren Company, has introduced two new blends to its new recently launched Super Value Pipe Tobacco pouch line— Bourbon Whiskey and English Mixture. "Bourbon Whiskey uses real flavors of classic American Bourbon in the style of popular imported blends without the cost," says Brian Levine, v.p. of sales and marketing at Sutliff Tobacco. "The introduction of English Mixture was inspired by the heritage of Phill Green, president of Sutliff Tobacco who was born and raised in the North of England and remembers the great aromas of the tobacco shops. This is the first English blend in the popular price segment that uses real Latakia." Sutliff Tobacco unveiled the new gold foil pouches for its Super Value line of real pipe tobacco, which are produced in Richmond, Va., at the 2015 IPCPR Trade Show. "The new pouches look great and help maintain the freshness of the blends longer," Levine explains. "We at Sutliff Tobacco know that with rising taxes and limited places to smoke, the new 1.5 oz. pouches are becoming a more popular choice for the consumer. This is why we are investing in our pouch line and expanding the offerings." Super Value Pipe Tobacco is available in 1.5 oz. pouches and 12 oz. bags directly from Sutliff Tobacco or distributors. The pipes accommodate 9mm filters, and have a suggested retail price of $256. F&K Cigar Company, St. Louis, Mo., Tel: (314) 423-1968, Web: www.fkcigar.com. Ascorti 35th Anniversary Pipe Now Available from Arango Cigar Company Arango Cigar Co., a national tobacco products distributor, now offers the limited edition, one-of-a-kind Ascorti 35th Anniversary Briar Pipe. Created by Italian master carver Roberto Ascorti. Each pipe has a polished metal band: one style includes a detachable lanyard that attaches to a ring on the band, while the other has no ring or lanyard capability on its metal band. The Ascorti 35th Anniversary Pipe is made from specially selected, century-old briar that has been dried and seasoned to eliminate excess resin and moisture. The result is a lightweight pipe that smokes cool and dry. The Anniversary Pipe, like all Ascorti pipes, is hand-carved to maximize the briar's natural grain, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. The precision-fit military style bits are hand carved from non-tarnishing black and clear acrylic. The Anniversary Pipe is available in one shape, a bent egg, in seven finishes that exemplify Ascorti's ability to introduce modern artistic interpretations to traditional briars. Pipe lovers admire his artistic depart- ures from the conventional, and these finishes are no exception. Notable finishes include the unusual pebble-grained Business (shown); Nus, a smooth brown; Striata, with a vertically striated bowl; Sabbia D'Oro (golden sandblast); and New Dear, a textured bowl, likened to the tangled patterns of layers of candle-wax drippings. Suggested retail prices for the Ascorti 35th Anniversary Pipe range from $432 to $891 each, depending on finish. The complete collection is now available from Arango Cigar Co. Arango Cigar Co., Northbrook, Ill., Toll-free: (800) 222-442, E-mail: ArangoCigar@aol.com.
