Connections • cmualum.com Watch connection By Mary Lu Yardley, '90 MSA '92 Executive director of alumni relations From Minnesota to Florida to New York to Nevada and all places in between, alumni join to watch CMU football and meet new friends. There are examples in this magazine of building human connections among our alumni, students and faculty. Our watch parties are another example of alumni connecting with each other. One of the great perks of a winning football program and national exposure on TV is the opportunity for alumni to gather for a common interest. This has been a great year of connections. New clubs have formed, new leadership has emerged, and the Chippewa connection grows. I have said many times that our goal is to connect and reconnect with our alumni. I thank those individuals who have contacted us. The request we hear so often is, "I know there are more CMU alumni in my area besides me, can you help get us together?" And they are usually correct, there are more alumni in their area, and these watch parties have provided the venue to get something started. Three MAC Championships and four consecutive bowl games have provided the opportunity to connect with new and old friends. Thank you CMU Chippewa football. What a season! Fire up Chips!
