HIGHLIGHTS YEAR at a Glance Advanced Water Purification ( pgs 8-9 ) ~ Padre Dam is committed to exploring alternative water resources to increase water reliability. The combination of the drought and the fact that Padre Dam's potable water supply is currently 100 percent imported, makes it more important than ever for the District to explore the development of a locally-controlled water source. Our Advanced Water Purification Project could provide up to 30 percent of East County's local drinking water supply. The Advanced Water Purification Demonstration Project was completed and opened to the public in 2015 to demonstrate the District's ability to produce this water and to show our customers the process. Drought Impact and Outreach ( pgs 10-11) ~ The drought has had a significant impact on the District's resources including increased call volume, additional time to track and process more water waste violations and leak letters, and added efforts to educate staff and customers on drought issues. Field personnel are now required to witness, report, and identify customers who are not complying with the State mandates. Infrastructure ( pgs 12-13 ) ~ The ongoing goal of the Operations Department is to provide adequate maintenance of the existing infrastructure and promote efficient operation of the potable water, recycled water and wastewater collection and conveyance systems. This goal captures all aspects of daily operations, including responding to service outages, repairs, customer concerns and a variety of other field issues. The majority of these goals were met or exceeded for Fiscal Year 2015. 6 ~ 2015 Annual Report
