Due to SEVERE drought
conditions statewide and little snowpack
accumulation, Governor Jerry Brown issued an
executive order in April 2014, which included a
directive requiring the SWRCB to adopt and
implement emergency water waste regulations.
In response,
declared Level 2 Drought Alert on August 6,
2014, requiring mandatory water use
restrictions for all customers. Additionally,
beginning June 1, 2015 the State Water
Resources Control Board began enforcing
emergency regulations, including water use
reduction mandates.
The emergency regulations required
the District and its customers reduce water use by
20 percent from June 2015 through February 2016
when compared to the same months in 2013.
