50 SMOKESHOP June 2016 Nat Sherman has introduced new colored secondary bands on the two cigar lines of the Timeless Collection to help simplify the product identification process for retailers and consumers. The Timeless Collection is comprised of two unique blends produced in two different countries. The company creat- ed the secondary red band to signify the Dominican-made Timeless blend, while the secondary black band represents the Nicaraguan-made Timeless blend. Both blends remain the same, but the new additions help retailers and consumers iden- tify the Timeless Collection's two unique countries of origin. "Previously, the two cigar blends in the Timeless Collection have been visually identified by their rolling style, differentiating the round cigars of the Dominican made blend from the box-pressed cigars of the Nicaraguan made blend," said Michael Herklots, vice president of retail and brand devel- opment at Nat Sherman. "The secondary bands, however, serve to make product recognition even easier." The cigars in the Dominican-made Timeless Collection are a full-bodied, medium-strength blend of tobaccos from three differ- ent countries, produced at the Quesada Cigars factory and have classic vitola names. The cigars in the Nicaraguan-made blend are medium-bodied puros crafted by Plasencia Cigars; each of the shapes are differentiated by a three-number name that combines the length and the ring gauge of each cigar in the line. The cigars featuring the secondary bands began to roll out in stores nationwide as of February 2016. Nat Sherman, Fort Lee, N.J., Tel: 201-735-9000, Web: natsherman.com. Nat Sherman Adds Colored Cigar Bands for Timeless Collection Brand NEWS Davidoff Unveils Spicy Nicaragua Box Pressed The first-ever box pressed cigar from Davidoff launched in late March with the arriv- al of the new Davidoff Nicaragua Box Pressed. It's the latest in a succession of releases from Davidoff Cigars that senior vice president of global marketing Charles Awad says are intended to encourage cigar aficionados to venture beyond their go-to cigars and origins and explore "superbly crafted, exciting blends." Last year the company released the Rio-inspired Brazilian blend Davidoff Escurio, and in 2013 the Davidoff Nicaragua, one of the company's fast- ed-growing new releases ever. Davidoff boosted the spice in this latest Nicaragua blend with the addition of a fiery EstelĂ ligero leaf that complements aged Jalapa, Ometepe, and Condega tobaccos for a complex, bitter, and sweet palate stimulation. In addition, a richer, sharper Habano Nicaragua Oscuro wrapper has been used and each cigar finished with a dynamic box pressed format to deliver a "more extreme flavor journey." Two formats are offered: a Robusto (5 x 48), bearing a suggested retail price of $14.50 each, and Toro (6 x 52) at $17.20 each. The cigars are presented in slide-top 12-count boxes or four-count cartons. After its launch through Davidoff Appointed Merchants in late March, Davidoff Nicaragua Box Pressed will be available worldwide in summer 2016.
