While inspection can help you verify quality, suppliers must take many other steps to build quality into the product. This article explains one supplier's approach and how companies can use quality to market their products. hen it comes to dietary supplements, the quality of the products you consume can translate into how healthily you live. Thus, manufacturers must demonstrate the quality of their products to consumers. Of course, quality is not something you can wish into your ingredient. You have to build it into the product every step of the way. Many manufacturers and marketing com- panies seek to meet quality standards by documenting inspection, a necessary step, but not the right approach to producing a quality product. Nor can you test quality into a product. Instead, you must plan for quality by designing it into your manufacturing systems and executing the steps in your plan. Quality needs to be maintained from the prelim- inary steps of raw material authentication right up to the packaging of the finished product.
