August 2016 SMOKESHOP 67 Swisher Rolls Out Improved Acid G-Fresh Cigars In collaboration with Drew Estate, Swisher International is reintroducing Acid G-Fresh Cigars in innovative G-Fresh foil pouches which ensure longer lasting shelf life and promise consistent product quality for each individually packaged cigar. In addition to the updated and improved packaging, Acid G-Fresh will also feature new blends only available in the G-Fresh format. The classics, Kuba Kuba and Blondie, will continue to be offered in their traditional infusions with their signature blue cigar bands. New additions will include Blondie Red, a bold infusion with a dark Cameroon wrapper, and Blondie Morado, a rich and robust ACID in a Maduro wrapper. Drew Estate and Swisher continue to work on additional specialty blends that are slated to be added to the G-Fresh lineup in late 2016. With the growth exhibited by the premium category in convenience stores and other retailers, Acid G-Fresh offers a unique opportunity for stores to get into the premium business with a low initial inventory investment and high margin earning potential. Lamborghini Latinoamerica Inks Distribution Deal with Lord of the Cigars Lamborghini Latinoamerica USA, the Estelí, Nicaragua- based boutique maker of Lamborghini cigars and official representative of Italian luxury car-maker Lamborghini Spa, has signed a manufacturing and distribution deal with Lord of the Cigars Corp., a Miami-based distributor founded in 2013 that specializes in premium cigars. The partnership has debuted with two boutique cigars—350GTV and MCMXCIV—produced by Lamborghini Latinoamerica and imported by Lord of Cigars, currently available for pre-order. Both are 7 x 56 torpedos rolled from 100 percent premium Cuban- seed long fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic with a Nicaraguan binder. "Our exclusive cigars have to team perfectly with someone living the Lamborghini lifestyle," remarked Lamborghini Latino America c.e.o. Anthony Crudup. "We wanted someone who believes in the elite standards, principles, and exclusivity of the esteemed Lamborghini lifestyle and Lord of the Cigars fits the bill perfectly." The Lamborghini MCMXCIV (1994) Habano celebrates the establishment of Lamborghini Latinoamerica in 1994 and is finished with a dark Ecuadorian Habano wrapper that lends a subtle and distinct medium-bodied spice. The 1963 Lamborghini 350 GTV Maduro, blended for exotic Lamborghini enthusiasts, is named after the iconic 350 GTV unveiled at the 1963 Turin Auto Show. Crudup describes the blend, which is finished with a San Andres maduro wrapper from Mexico, as medium-full bodied, complex but smooth, with a hit of spice and plentiful smoke. Yunior Lopez, president of Lord of the Cigars, said there is a highly desirable connection between the world of high-end super cars and cigars, and is excited at the opportunity to develop a niche market for Lamborghini Cigars. "Nothing feels better than enjoying fine scotch with an exclusive Lamborghini cigar while admiring the super cars," he added. Lamborghini Latinoamerica is on pace to produce 100,000 sticks annually of both blends, presented in boxes of 20 cigars retailing for $420. The company will also release 500 keepsake wooden gift boxes finished in either white or black high gloss piano lacquer and topped by a logo-embossed leather inlay. The special 20-count boxes will be available in time for the retail Christmas gift season and retail for $520. La Aurora announced that the La Aurora 1962 Corojo and the La Aurora 1987 Connecticut are now shipping. These two blends are dedicated to the years in which the Dominican company began working with the types of wrappers used on each. The La Aurora 1962 features a corojo wrapper, from the Cibao Valley in the Dominican Republic, wrapped over an Ecuadorian binder, and fillers from the Cibao Valley and Nicaragua. The La Aurora 1987 sports a Connecticut shade- grown wrapper over a Dominican binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. La Aurora offers both cigars in four sizes in 20-count boxes: Robusto (5 x 50), Churchill (7 x 50), Toro (5 1/2 x 54) and Gran Toro (6 x 58). The company explains that the low MSRP of $5.50 to $6.00 per stick is to pay tribute to the consumers who have supported La Aurora for 113 years.
