USA WRESTLING As the National Governing Body for amateur wrestling, USA Wrestling provides opportunities for all wrestlers, ranging from beginning youth wrestlers all the way to those competing in the Olympic Games. Working along with USA Wrestling's 50 state associations, a pathway to excellence is created for wrestlers in the United States. Whether wrestlers are in their first year or are experienced competitors, USA Wrestling has programming to suit the wrestler's needs. Beginning with local and state competition, members in USA Wrestling can progress to regional, national and international competition in folkstyle, freestyle, and Greco-Roman wrestling. This is the path that many of the past, present and future U.S. World and Olympic Team members have used to find success. This can also be said for coaches, referees and leaders, who have travelled this established pathway to excellence. MISSION STATEMENT USA Wrestling, guided by the Olympic Spirit, provides quality opportunities for its members to achieve their full human and athletic potential. 24 | NATIONAL WRESTLING HALL OF FAME & MUSEUM THE GOLD STANDARD USA Wrestling provides its coaches and clubs with the marketing materials to recruit wrestlers, develop practice plans for club practices, as well as a respected National Coaches Education Program for its member coaches. All of these programs enhance the experience of wrestlers nationwide, and ensure growth and future participation in wrestling. With a vast network of volunteers, the mission of USA Wrestling is carried out at state and local levels every day. These volunteers, including coaches, officials, club directors, parents and fans, are the lifeblood of the greatest sport in the world. These leaders have the opportunity to progress through their respective state associations onto regional and national councils and committees of USA Wrestling, further impacting the organization in a positive way.
