PRODUCT NEWS PRODUCT NEWS 34 | November - December 2016 | www.machinerylubrication.com SYNTHETIC GREASES Dow Corning's new synthetic greases promise clean handling, better low- temperature capabilities and more effective automotive noise-damping. Formu- lated with a unique base oil and additive technology, the Molykote greases feature several key benefits, such as friction-reduction properties to temperatures of minus 50 degrees C, less stringiness for cleaner and more efficient application methods, controlled oil separation and bleed for cleaner parts and reduced staining over time, and good water-washout resistance for extended life in wet environments. Dow Corning www.dowcorning.com 800-248-2481 CUTTING FLUIDS The new Hysol SL 35 XBB and Alusol SL 51 XBB cutting fluids from Castrol are intended to support the manufacturing of metal compo- nents. The fluids are formulated to maintain pH at a constant level and are resistant to bacterial growth and acid attack. The lubricating properties help prevent swarf buildup, assuring high-quality surface finish and low scrappage rates. Even at low concentrations, the cut - ting fluids can help to maintain machining performance and protect against corrosion and staining. Castrol www.castrol.com 800-462-0835 FILTER CART The new Mobile Filtration Device (MFD) filter cart from Schroeder Industries features a fluid sampling system to enable users to know when the desired ISO cleanliness levels have been achieved. The Hy-Trax option includes a TestMate Con - tamination Monitor (TCM) particle counter to allow a fluid's ISO codes to be seen while the cart is in operation. The particle counter has its own dedicated sampling pump to provide the required pressures for accurate particle counts. The Hy-Trax option is also offered as a complete kit for installation on existing carts. Utilizing rotating disc electrode (RDE) optical emission spectroscopy (OES) technology, the spectrometers can detect and quantify the presence of elements that indicate machine wear or fluid contamination while also monitoring the depletion of additives accord - ing to ASTM D-6595. The analysis process involves no sample preparation or use of solvents or gases, and provides immediate multi-element results. Spectro Scientific www.spectrosci.com 978-486-0123
