Many of us know you have trained horses
for Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps
and his coach Bob Bowman, and you know
Olympian Phillip Dutton through your
Thoroughbred aftercare pursuits as well.
So, which do you prefer: summer or winter
Olympics?
I probably watch more of the winter Olym-
pics because it's a quiet time of year for
me, but I really enjoyed rooting for Philip
this summer, and watching Michael and
Bob Bowman at work was extraordinary.
And which sport would you most
want to medal in?
Downhill skiing must be a real rush.
Would you say that's your favorite sport?
If not, which sport takes your fancy out-
side of the Olympics?
Soccer is probably my favorite sport. I
loved to play in high school.
Are there any coaches out there, like a
Bob Bowman, who you have studied in
your time as a trainer?
I got to meet Andy Reid several times over
the course of the Triple Crown with Animal
Kingdom when he was coaching the Ea-
gles. I really admire him and it was fascinat-
ing to see some of the similarities we have
in coaching/training. I now enjoy following
his success with Kansas City.
