Any one of those pursuits would have made a fulfilling career for most men, but Mickey Kapp is not most men. Not by a long shot. He was born in New Rochelle, New York. By the time he was ready to head for California to study at Stanford, his father David and uncle Jack had founded Kapp Records in Los Angeles, pro- ducing records by popular artists of the day such as Bing Crosby, Fred Astaire, Eddie Albert, Louis Armstrong and Jack Jones. "I flunked out of Stanford after two quarters," A young Mickey is seen here in a recording studio flanked by crooner Bing Crosby and his father, David Kapp, founder of Kapp Records. Kapp's office is filled with memorabilia of his life and career. He had rare access to NASA's inncer circles and as a result was presented with many rare artifacts from the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs.
