each student's (artistic) processes
and how they see their application
as an artist."
Beyond the year-round activities
at participating schools and the Out
West Show, Young Masters also offers
a $2,500 scholarship to a graduat-
ing high school student to further
their art education. This is possible
through the Phil and Karen Korrel Art
Scholarship Fund, as well as gener-
ous grants received in 2016 from the
KT Rose Foundation and CostCo UW,
says Ron Ukrainetz, a co-founder of
Young Masters and chairman of the
board of trustees for the Out West Art
Foundation.
Because of the increased fund-
ing, Young Masters leaders hope to
take their regional program state-
wide next year.
Jacobs says her CMR art stu-
dents know about the available
scholarship, and that she has submit-
ted the forms to receive a Classroom
Assistance grant.
"It makes me feel really sup-
ported by my community. It's also
a great way to build relationships
between those artists and the school
system," Jacobs adds.

11. He draws
