A
group of 13 accomplished artists who are
members of the Montana Watercolor Society
present their work in all its seriousness during
their second Western Art Week show and sale
La Quinta Inn & Suites.
"This sale has no fluff, just beautiful art by Montana
watercolor artists," says MTWS Event Coordinator Ron
Paulick. A watercolor artist since 1998, Paulick adds, "All
art from (them) use the beauty of water based paints
one of the more difficult painting mediums."
Its complexity begins with how delicate the paint
is. Paulick says, "There are things about the paints and
about how much you add. It's best to know where you
want to go with that. With water on the brush, there's a
lot of precision that has to take place."
At the La Quinta again this year the Watermedia
Art Sale, has revamped the hotel's meeting room for
the guests' viewing leisure. "It is a place to relax; a place
to visit with the artists. The coffee is always on," Paulick
says.
Great Falls watercolor artist Carol Spurgeon de-
scribes this space as "Small…. It's small, but being small
means that only sometimes will there be a whole lot of
people." Each artist will have two panels on which to
display their work.
Spurgeon adds, "We suggest three or fewer paint-
ings (per artist) to create a clean and simple show for
