A move executed by a puck carrier to evade an on-coming defender by completing a tight turn with the puck fully under control of his stick. The term is also used to refer to a penalty shot where the shooter stops and spins at the top of the goal crease, shooting the puck backhanded towards the goal. (The phrase was originally coined by Danny Gallivan, a Hockey Night in Canada broadcaster who worked Montreal Canadiens games for more than 30 years.)
