With itineraries ranging in length from eight to fifteen days,
our river cruises offer an insight into the history of each
magnificent waterway. What were once integral trade routes
are now gateways to cultural enlightenment, to be navigated
in style on-board an award-winning Emerald 'Star Ship' with
exciting options for both the first time traveller and for those
who have cruised with us before.
The Rhône, France's second-longest river has served an
important trade route through the centuries of change and
revolution, while the Rhine is a reminder of the historical
region's diverse and eventful past. The Douro snakes its way
from Spain and through Portugal, with its banks lined with
quaint villages and world-famous vineyards.
In 2017 we introduced new, custom-built Emerald 'Star Ships'
on the Rhône and Saône rivers in France, as well as the Douro
in Portugal. These rivers feature seven night itineraries that
link seamlessly for 14 nights of superb cruising.
