Former Los Angeles Times food columnist Russ Parsons, Chef Josette LeBlond of the Culinary Institute of LA and "Maximum Foodie" producer Sashi De judged the entries. The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) have presented an Americanism Medal to Dr. Eduardo Ochoa, president of California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB). The award honors individuals who display strong leadership, serv- ice and patriotism, and also stand out for their efforts to help foreign-born communities or immigrants working to become American citi- zens. Ochoa was recognized at a state DAR event in March, at a local gathering in April, and at the national DAR Continental Congress held this June in Washington, D.C. T wo-time AMA Grand National Champion and three-time World 500 Grand Prix Champion Kenny Roberts receiving "Legend of the Sport" honors at this year's The Quail Motorcycle Gathering.
