"I'm from New York, where we had harsh winters and limited growing oppor tunities," says the 26-year-old who gravitated toward natural formulas after struggling to find skincare products for her sensitive skin. "Here, I can grow so many things that are beneficial for skin and health." Molloy founded Valley Botanicals in 2016. Today, she sells small-batch, all-natural creams, serums and salves made with beeswax from hives she maintains with her par tner, Jon. She also grows lavender, calendula, helichrysum and other elements for her blends. Top seller s include Hydrate + Repair Face Cream, a light, soothing formula that incorporates sunflower oil and horsetail, and the new Yarrow + Lavender Facial Toner. In addition to selling products online, Molloy distributes batches to stores from Big Sur to Mendocino to Upstate New York. Her local out- lets include Happy Girl Kitchen and the Phoenix Shop at Nepenthe. This winter, Molloy will lead do-it-yourself workshops at Carmel Valley Mercantile. "I enjoy helping people understand how nat- ural products work," she says. "You just need to know what you can use. The plants are growing right here around you."
