Description: Sorbocryl™ Plus monofilament, synthetic, sterile,
absorbable, surgical suture is composed of poly(glycolide-co-
caprolactone) and contains ≤ 60 μg/m of a common antimicrobial
agent, chlorhexidine diacetate. Sorbocryl™ Plus sutures are available
dyed (D&C violet #2) or undyed (natural).
Indication: Sorbocryl™ Plus sutures are indicated for use in animals
only in soft tissue approximation, and/or ligation, but not for use in
cardiovascular or neurological surgery, microsurgery, or ophthalmic
surgery.
Features:
• Treated with chlorhexidine diacetate for protection against bacterial
colonization
• Smooth passage through tissue
• Minimal tissue reaction
• Absorbable – by hydrolysis
Warning: Sutures should not be used if package is opened or
damaged or if the expiration date has been exceeded. Discard open
unused suture. Do not resterilize; resterilization may alter the physical
properties of this suture, which will result in an adverse patient reaction.
