enough warmth in its rays to stay on for
some 'apres-courses' as the band strikes up
and the racegoers retire to deck chairs for a
bit of oompah with an Aperol Spritz.
The lengthening shadows cast by sur-
rounding mountains will soon envelop the
picture-postcard scene and hasten people
inside to the warmth of La Baracca for a
rowdy dinner.
The only consolation at the end of a superb
Sunday is that there's still the return train
ride to be savoured the following morning.
If there's a better way to spend a weekend,
it's yet to be discovered.
