The objective for this kitchen was
simple: create a seamless, functional
workflow—from food storage and prep-
aration to cooking and cleaning. As a
result, everything was chosen to foster
these activities.
Sandra and Scott Gjesdahl created
delineations and visual borders. They
detailed the prep island with a furniture
feel, and located the scullery sink and
clean-up area to hide the messiest
zones. They also integrated concepts
such as a clean-up sink and an
island. The duo introduced industrial
elements–most notably in the vent
hood–but they also added custom
classic details such as a wood ceiling
and the granite-wrapped island with
waterfall edges. Additionally, the
dining room buffet discreetly houses
