I once asked a prominent industry figure what he liked most about his job in racing and his answer was, "The food." And while that sounds funny at first, it's also kind of true. Traveling for racing means a chance to try out the new hot place in a racing town, or to revis- it old favorites. In the April TDN Weekend, we spend a little more time than usual on food, and for good rea- son. Steve Sherack visits Don Peppe, the classic Italian restaurant just outside Aqueduct's gates, where pasta is ordered by the pound, credit cards aren't accepted, and where the baked clams just might change your life.
