Morton Grove Park District | 6834 Dempster Street | 847.965.1200 | mortongroveparks.com 18 INFO GENERAL POOL INFO 2018 Daily Admission Rates The daily rates listed below are the same for both Harrer and Oriole. Swim Pack The Morton Grove Park District offers a limited pool pass for residents and non-residents. This pass entitles you to 6 daily admissions, for the price of 5 at both pools during the 2018 summer season. These passes may only be purchased at the Prairie View Community Center. Pool Pass cards expire September 3, 2018 and are not transferable or refundable. $35 (Residents) $70 (Non-Residents) Your Safety is our Business All Morton Grove Park District lifeguards are certifi ed through Ellis & Associates, a leader in the aquatics industry. In accordance with the Ellis & Associates International Pool and Waterpark Lifeguard training program, our guards must complete a minimum of 28 hours of initial training. 2018 Pool Rules ● Outside food and beverage are not permitted in either pool facility. Food brought from home can be enjoyed outside the facility area. Re-entry is available by getting your hand stamped before you leave. ● Children age 3+ must pay admission fee. ● Children under 10 years old must be supervised by a guardian at least 16 years of age. ● Tight fi tting rubber pants or swim diapers must be worn by infants and toddlers. No disposable diapers permitted. ● No picture taking on cameras/camera cell phones while in the pool facilities. ● Proof of residency must be shown to receive resident entry rates. Children must either have a parent escort them inside with a current driver's license, or the child must show a Morton Grove Library Card, or Gymnasium Pass to prove residency. ● All swimmers must wear a swim suit with a liner. No athletic wear. Pool Closing Procedures ● Air temperature: temperature of 64 degrees or below will result in a pool closing. ● Inclement weather around pool: If lighting is seen, thunder is heard, the Thor Guard Lightning Prediction System* siren goes off, or lifeguards cannot see the bottom of the pool due to heavy rain, then pools will close immediately. Guests are asked to move quickly and safely inside the locker-room for 20 minutes. If inclement weather stops after 20 minutes, guests will be allowed to re-enter the pool. If weather continues, guests will be asked to wait an additional time. ● Fecal accidents: When a fecal indecent occurs, guests will be asked to wait on the pool deck until further notice. - Solid fecal accident wait time = 30 minutes - Liquid fecal accident wait time = Closed until chlorine levels regulate (can take up to 8 hours) ● Low attendance: Sections of the pool may be closed due to low attendance. ● Mechanical Failure: In the case of a mechanical failure, pools will be closed until further notice. ADDITIONAL POOL CLOSING INFORMATION Lifeguards will be working a shift schedule throughout the day. If a pool closes during one of the shifts, lifeguards will be prepared to re-open for the next shift. DAILY ADMISSION RESIDENT NON RESIDENT Child $5 $10 Adult $7 $14 Seniors 62+ $6 $12 Children ages 3 and over will need to purchase a pool pass or pay the daily rate. LAP SWIM RESIDENT NON RESIDENT $4 $5 REMINDER: You must present your pool pass at each visit or pay the daily rate for admission. Swim School Format This program is designed to have your child learn the basic fundamentals of swimming and advance through levels while learning new skills to make them an excellent swimmer. There are fi ve levels throughout the swim school program. If your child completes all skills in one level, they will then move onto the next level during the session. Each child will receive a certifi cate when passing out of a level. Come join the fun! Swim School Cancellation Policy In the event that swim lessons cannot run in the water, the Park District has allowed for one rain day each session. Rain days are designed to include out of water instruction and safety procedures. Participants should still come prepared to get in the water should the weather allow. In the case of more than one rain day per session, the lesson may be cancelled. Refunds will be handled by the registrar and participants will not need to fi ll out any additional forms or information. A refund will be issued based on how payment was received. Note: Classes will run in a light rain and cold weather. Classes will only get cancelled due to severe weather. Please call the hotline number at 847-965-7558 for the updated information.
