INFO Our Mission The Morton Grove Park District is committed to enrich the quality of community life and promote recreational activities through creative programming for people of all ages and abilities, while protecting open space and natural resources for future generations. A fi ve-member Board of Commissioners governs the Morton Grove Park District. The Board serves without compensation for a six-year term and is directly responsible to the electorate. Professional staff, led by the Executive Director, handles day-to-day operations. The Morton Grove Board of Park Commissioners welcomes citizens at all their meetings. All meetings are held at the Prairie View Community Center, 6834 Dempster St. Individuals needing special assistance should call one (1) week in advance (847) 965-1200 so that arrangements can be made. We hope you took advantage of all our winter activities and events that we had to offer. With the change of season, the Board of Park Commissioners has also seen changes. Dan Staackmann, who gave this District countless hours, dedication, and leadership resigned from the Board. On behalf of the entire Board of Park Commissioners and staff of the Morton Grove Park District, we wish him the very best in all his future endeavors. Dan's sense of humor, insight and vision will be missed. I am pleased to welcome Dorothy Coletta, who was raised here in Morton Grove, to the Board. Dorothy brings over 20 years of experience working with not-for-profi t boards and public service to the District. Do you have a young girl or boy who loves the outdoors who are looking for something fun to do in the summer? Within this guide you will fi nd a full assortment of programs and activities for the summer, including camps, concerts in the park, movies in the park, and it wouldn't be summer without our ice cream socials.
