RETAILOBSERVER.COM MAY 2018 28 Elica, a global leader in kitchen ventilation hoods, introduces the Varna Black vent hood as the newest addition to its Techne series. Varna Black features a black stainless steel finish and combines inspirational, classic Italian designs with the latest functional technology to deliver convenience and high performance. "At Elica, we are driven by an ever-present sense of design supported by the most advanced technology in the industry. Varna Black embodies this philosophy," said Francesco Casoli, Elica president and chairman. "Its clean lines, beautiful sloping angles and black stainless steel provide a uniquely rich appearance that will make a striking visual statement in any kitchen." Available in 30" and 36" widths, the wall-mounted vent hood features a powerful 600 cubic feet per minute (CFM) blower and multi-function electronic touch controls, which are discreetly hidden behind sleek black glass and will illuminate a soft blue when activated. It also includes a patented HUSH Sound Suppression System that reduces sound up to 35%, creating the perfect ambiance for a quiet conversation or a lively gathering with friends and family. Infinitely dimmable LED lighting provides the exact amount of light needed for any occasion and fades out of sight when not needed. The black stainless steel naturally hides fingerprints, and multi-layered stainless steel microhole filters use offset hole patterns to effectively capture grease with high efficiency, plus offers silent operation and durability that will last the life of the hood. It can also be installed as a recirculating system using the available recirculating kit. All range hoods in Elica's Techne series are designed to bring sophisticated Italian living into the kitchen.
