For those of us in the Northeast and in Kentucky, spring has been a long time coming this year and as of this writing, there are still far too many 40s on my iPhone weather app, and not enough 60s and 70s. But spring it is, if not outdoors, at least in the pages of the TDN Weekend. We start off this month with everything you need to cook (and in what order) to host the perfect Derby party. Check out Patty Wolfe's cooking videos and look for a surprise guest. Heading to the Preakness later in the month? Brian DiDonato has uncovered a gem of a restaurant, and you'll quickly become a fan of the fish pepper. (No, really.) In the U.K., it's time for the Chester racing festival, so grab a spot on the old Roman wall, and let Chris McGrath indoctrinate you to the whole affair. And finally, this year, one of the own- ers of the top operations in harness racing, Diamond Creek Farm's Adam Bowden, will sell his first thorough- bred yearlings. If the 37-year-old's success in harness racing is any indication, he's about to become a force in Thoroughbreds as well.
