"He even loves the postman." Now that's a dog that understands the meaning of the word "hospitali- ty," and that's vital in the vacation rental business. Gracee is just nine months old but is mature enough to accompany Annee at work every day. "She goes to Peace of Mind Doggie Day Care every morning and goes for a two-hour walk," Martin says. Austin A ustin works at John Prock's Monterey Music Store on Alvarado Street, but this 12-year-old Goldendoodle clearly has his head in the stars. "I'm positive that he was a musi- cian in a previous life," Prock says. "Someone will come in, sit down to play a guitar and he goes right up to them and gets into the music." He is certainly popular around the store. "People come in every day just to see him," Prock says. "He's a celebrity around here…and he behaves like a true rock star." "The average dog is a nicer person than the average person." ~ Andy Rooney "
