Text by Holly Matkin • Photography by Ali Spoon Where Everybody Knows Your Name PHILIPSBURG, MONTANA SiG MT 12 URBAN AFFAIRS Neighborhoods Bricks Pub wants to be known for more than its handmade tortilla chips, locally grown beef and homemade sangria. "We want to be the 'Cheers' bar after 8 o'clock," proprietor Rick Thomas says. "People love to congregate here to socialize and enjoy great food." Having 12 Montana craft beers on tap – including three from the award-winning Philipsburg Brewing Company across the street – doesn't hurt, either. Rick and his fiancé, Justine Barridon, searched the country for several years in order to find the perfect place to put his lifetime of food service experience on full display. Since they opened their doors in October, Bricks' cooks Whitney and Ilsa have turned out delectable culinary masterpieces like Guinness chocolate cheesecake, walnut pesto pasta with shrimp, and a mind-blowing array of specialty burgers. And if you're in the mood to shoot pool, toss darts, or play a hand of live poker – well, Bricks has all of that, too. Bricks Pub is open Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and weekends from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Phone: (406) 859-0072 Bricks Pub • 102 West Broadway S MT Bricks Pub's historic locale showcases it's eclectic mix of old and new. "Being involved with our local community is our number one goal," Bricks owner Rick Thomas says.
