Text by Holly Matkin • Photography by Really Montana Photography niversity of Providence athletes have a new coach in the weight room this year, and he plans to build far more than just muscle and physical strength. "It's about developing the whole athlete," Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Will Seevers says. "It's not just about the weight room. I want to help teach discipline, values, and how to have a purpose-driven life." Will is no stranger to self-development. After completing his undergraduate studies, he earned a Master's degree from the University of Houston, and went on to obtain certifications through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches' Association. He is also trained as a tactical strength and conditioning facilitator. The Texas native and former collegiate tennis player has traveled the country, gaining hands-on experience and insight as he worked with coaches and athletes at Tarleton State University, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Louisiana State University. Today, he helps to build the foundation for University of Providence athletes by developing both team and individualized conditioning plans. "Coaches have had a profound impact in my life, and I feel that I am representing the amazing coaches I have served under," Will says. "I want to be the best at what I do, to help others to be the best at what they do." URBAN AFFAIRS Introducing SiG MT 18 Personal Strength: A Lifelong Exercise U S MT
