Her delicate use of light helps create the warmth and emotion
she wants to convey. Even though she focuses on realism, the
backgrounds are sometimes more impressionistic, helping to bring
the subject to life.
When a painting is finished there is another important step for
Randleas – finding the person who connects with the painting by
feeling the emotion and understanding the story she has portrayed
by capturing a moment in time.
When she read about the state of consciousness described as
"flow" in a book by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, Randleas recognized
this as a key element in her work; geing into her flow and seeing
where it takes her. And so far, it has taken her to many great places,
to fascinating people – and resulted in wonderful paintings.
