For Better or Worse We all know the time-honored tradition of having or wearing "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a sixpence in your shoe," on your wedding day. It describes the four (technically five) objects a bride should have with her on her wedding day for good luck, a custom many have followed for centuries. e phrase originated as a Victorian-era rhyme that came out of the English country Lancashire and was once thought to not only give the bride good luck on her wedding day, but also help to guarantee fertility and prosperity. Today, it is simply a charming ritual many still incorporate into their special day. SiG MT 55 SiG MT 61
