Zoo News m em b er maga zin e 08 FEATURE mId - WEEK TOddLEr fUN TOddLEr THUrSdAYS bLOggEr rEVIEW - KEL frOm mELbOUrNE mINOr Junior Zoo Keeper Ravi was given the important task of checking out Werribee Open Range Zoo's Toddler Thursdays. This is a brand new program aimed at pre-schoolers and will run every Thursday until the end of August. Each week has its own feature animal and will have a special activity such as face painting, hair braiding and crafts. The junior safari bus will be pulling into Safari Station each morning with a customised tour for kids with all the animals you know and love but with a shorter duration and commentary featuring songs and rhymes. The bus ride is such a perfect activity with kids, you get to see everything without little legs getting tired. Ravi loved the junior version with all the songs! Be sure to check out the regular attractions too, mornings are great for catching feeding times and we were lucky enough to see the lions enjoying a hearty breakfast. There is water play at Hippo Beach on warm days and remember to pop into the indoor play area, it's sure to be winner with pre-schoolers with different zones where you can pretend to be a vet, fly a helicopter and have fun with lots of great dress-ups. Toddler Thursdays is going to be a fantastic way for the little ones to enjoy the zoo and it is all included with your standard zoo ticket.
