17 farm406 Randy Hinebauch P R O D U C E R P R O F I L E Randy Hinebauch BY SUZANNE WARING PHOTOGRAPHY BY ERIC VISOCAN t has been said that a difficulty bears its own solutions because it forces us to change our thinking. Randy and Lisa Hinebauch have farmed to the west of Chinook since 1983. In 1986, conventional wheat prices weren't paying the bills, and the area had seen two drought years. Randy needed a new solution to his method of farming, but what was it? A piece of land that was recently purchased provided the answer, but it took the success of the next year's harvest for Randy to completely conceptualize the way to his farming future. I Hinebauch Grain Inc. is located near Chinook, Mont. in Blaine County. The Hinebauch family and many of their neighbors farm organically. Together, they raise more organic wheat than any other county in the United States.
