films, The Quiet Man, which was playing
in the Ashford Castle Cinema the night
of our stay. Interwoven between archery,
horseback riding, falconry, gardens, river
cruises, hidden cottages, tree climbing,
and so much more are the buildings and
scenery that Maureen O'Hara and John
Wayne used as their backdrop to bring
the story of Sean Thornton and Mary Kate
Danaher to life.
There is a quiet confidence among the
team that calls Ashford Castle its office.
They are always friendly with the reputed
Irish hospitality at the forefront at all
times. Although the castle is fit and ready
for any monarchy, you instantly settle in
and feel at home. The range of comforts,
in addition to the already mentioned
activities, include a spa, afternoon tea,
live music, art gallery, wine cellar, and
cigar room to name a few, mean that every
member of the family will find a retreat
during their stay whether indoors or out.
If you have a trip planned to Ireland,
don't cheat yourself out of a stay befitting
royalty.
