Business Education Alliance EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Location flexible The Business Education Alliance (BEA) is a new not-for-profit organization that has recently been founded by a consortium of business school deans and corporate employers from across the country. Its purpose is to revolutionize the ways students select business schools to attend, and employers identify recruiting targets, by creating a massive electronic repository of detailed, verified and current information about business school programs and outcomes. This data will be accessible via web and mobile devices, to a wide range of users. The service will not be based on rankings. Rather, it will include tools to help students and employers assess their needs and expectations against a set of choice factors. It will have the interactive capacity to match assessed needs and expectations with appropriate business school programs in seconds, utilizing the same kind of mathematical algorithms that are already employed to match romantic partners, organ donors or fi rst year residents with medical residency programs. The working name of the information service and decision support tool is B-Match. It exists in specifications form. Start-up funding to create and sell the service has been secured, a market and competitive analysis has been performed, and an experienced software developer is at work designing and building the necessary technology platform. At this time, the BEA seeks to hire its fi rst Executive Director. Working with a blueprint developed by the BEA, this individual will accomplish the following over the next two years: fully develop, build and launch the B-Match service; aggressively expand the Alliance to include additional business schools and market its use by students and employers; put in place a long-range fi nancial model to sustain it; and build the administrative capability to create a fully scaled enterprise. The BEA is looking for an exceptionally talented entrepreneur with the ability to recruit members and sell a concept to business schools and employers. It will consider individuals from a variety of career paths, including academia or other non-profit, private industry or the public sector. The person selected for this unique position will have demonstrated success in initiating and building something from scratch, be it a company, an organization, a program or department. Ideally, they will have flourished under conditions of little supervision and even less structure, evidencing a high degree of self-motivation and a track record of exceeding expectations. We seek a strategic and fearless individual, a persuasive communicator and a tech-savvy professional who is naturally inclined to drive through obstacles rather than to live within constraints as presented.
