Snag Election & voting 2013 Board Nominees (choose two) JIM BOVÉ Jim Bové earned his public school teaching certification in art from Edinboro University of PA, where he had his first taste of metals. He returned to earn his MFA in Jewelry/metals. During his time as a graduate assistant at Edinboro he worked as a bench jeweler. Jim is presently an Associate Professor at California University of Pennsylvania. He has organized and curated several international exhibitions and lectures between the United States and Japan, including the cross-cultural exchange, Metalsmiths Linking. Jim served as Technical Editor for SNAG news for several years. During that time he made an effort to bring in articles from all areas of the metals community, from bench jewelers to fine artists and even a gunsmith. In 2011 Jim's artwork was selected for Metalsmith magazine's Exhibition in Print. His artwork is in the National Ornamental Metal Museum collection and has been featured in several books and publications. BECKY MCDONAH Becky McDonah is the Head of the Metals Area at Millersville University in Pennsylvania. Previously she headed up the Metalworking Department at Arizona State University from 2005-2012 and was a Visiting Professor at Bowling Green State University in Ohio from 2001-2005. While in Arizona, McDonah served as President of the Arizona Designer Craftsmen Central Chapter 2006-2010, received the Distinguished Teacher Award from the Herberger College of the Arts at Arizona State University in 2007, and served as Co-Chair of the 2012 SNAG Conference. She has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions, lectured and presented workshops at internationally renowned venues, and has curated various metals and craft exhibitions. McDonah received her MFA in Metals from Arizona State University in 2000 and her BA from University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in 1995. RACHEL TIMMINS Rachel Timmins received her MFA in Studio Art (Metals Concentration) in December 2012 and her BFA in Metal/Jewelry Design with a Minor in Sculpture from Buffalo State College in 2009. She has taught as adjunct faculty and has been the recipient of numerous awards including twotime status as a Finalist in the NICHE Awards. Her work has been shown in many exhibitions both nationally and internationally in venues such as the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, the Design Museum London and the Baltimore Museum of Art. Rachel's work can be seen in numerous publications such as Unexpected Pleasures published by Rizzoli Publications, Contemporary Jewelry in Perspective published by Lark Books and Jewel Book: International Annual of Contemporary Jewel Art published by Stitchting Kunst Boek. She regularly teaches digital and multi-media workshops both locally and nationally and is commissioned frequently to make custom works. Voting ends at 1:00 PM on Saturday. Election results will be announced at 2:30 on Saturday during the Conference Closing Remarks in Canadian Room. 31
