Snag Election & voting 2013 (Continued) Nominations and Elections Committee Nominees (choose 1) JEFF MCGEE Jeff McGee earned an Associate's Degree in 2001 in Animation at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, a BFA cum laude in metalsmithing in 2006 from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, and continued his Honors MFA work at The University of Kansas' historic metals program. In January 2011, McGee accepted a full-time position as 3-D art faculty at San Jacinto College in Houston, TX. He currently sits on the board of the Houston Metal Arts Guild, and has been an active SNAG member since 2007. His work has been shown nationally and internationally, with high regard for its craftsmanship and whimsical approach to traditional mediums and practices. Recently, his work was purchased by the Kamm Teapot Foundation, and included in the CU:29 exhibit during the Phoenix SNAG conference. McGee's passion for inter-disciplinary dialogue is evident in his teaching methods and creative pursuits which stress contemporary problem solving and critical thinking across diverse vocations. GINA WESTERGARD Gina Westergard is currently an Associate Professor of Metalsmithing/ Jewelry at the University of Kansas. In addition to teaching responsibilities, she has served on numerous committees and held two administrative positions. She has exhibited her work in international and national venues that include: Ostholstein Museum, Eutin, Germany; Lahti University of Applied Sciences, Lahti, Finland; Tap Gallery, Sydney, Australia; Fortunoff, New York, NY; The National Ornamental Metals Museum, Memphis, TN; and The California Crafts Museum, San Francisco, CA. Her work is published in the Metalsmith Magazine, Exhibition in Print, Saturated: Color and Metal and in 500 Vessels, Contemporary Explorations of Containment, Lark Books. She was awarded a Mid-American Art Alliance/NEA Fellowship and several Jurors' Awards. She has received three Faculty Research Funds and four Hallmark Enhancement Grants from the University of Kansas. LAURA WOOD Laura Wood is a professional artist and educator living in San Antonio, Texas. She received her BFA in jewelry and metals from the University of Georgia and her MFA in metal design from East Carolina University. She has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally and is a contributing artist of the Gregg Museum of Art and Design Permanent collection in Raleigh, North Carolina. She has been a curator of both paper and jewelry exhibitions and was the founding voice in the East Carolina University Material Topics Symposium 2010. She recently completed an artist in residence for the paper and metal areas at the Southwest School of Art and is currently the gallery manager and curator for Equinox Gallery in downtown San Antonio, Texas. Laura has been of member of SNAG since 2007 and helped in the organization for the SNAG silent auction and raffle under the direction of Marlene True in 2011 and 2012. Voting ends at 1:00 PM on Saturday. Election results will be announced at 2:30 on Saturday during the Conference Closing Remarks in Canadian Room. 32
