MOTHER AND
BABY ELEPHANT
Elephants live in
matriarchal families
and older females
assist younger ones
with birth and raising the young. The
females are very
protective of their
young and elephants
remain in family
groups all of their
lives. Males appear
only to mate but are
not involved in the
process of raising
or caring for
the young.
THE HUNTERS
The large baby lions are actually watching their mother hunt a small herd of zebras off to the side. Hopefully she will
teach them to join her in the hunt soon as they have grown quite large! We followed this family of four young lions and
their mother for several hours, hoping to see her in action.
