MSP Making Talent Sustainable Resources are limited. Planning starts now. By Debbie Bolla At the recent HRO Today Forum in Dublin, Elliot Clark headed up a very thought-provoking session on the future of managed serivce programmes (MSP). The CEO of SharedXpertise and publisher of this magazine wasn't shy about putting providers—and buyers—on the spot about workforce management. His statistics were staggering: Clark pointed out that in 2015, 50 per cent of China's workforce will be within 10 years of retirement age. And the rest of the Western world isn't far behind. It drove home the point that talent isn't sustainable and is currently a limited resource. He said this should make organisations change the way they view their workforces. Lines between contingent and permanent workers need to continue to blur. The workforce of the future will be a single, unified workforce. [22] HRO TODAY GLOBAL | SPRING 2013 An esteemed group of industry experts were on hand to field questions from Clark on workforce issues: • Melanie Barnett, head of operations of Advantage xPO • Andrew Zardakas, SVP of strategic client solutions for Impellam Group • Seb O'Connell, managing director of Randstad Sourceright • Michel Stokvis, president and managing director of EMEA for Pontoon Clark: MSP is gaining momentum in many companies. The fundamental value proposition of MSP has been to bring order to the supply chain and save money. We've gotten to that point. What is the next evolution of the MSP product to make it more strategically significant?
