1 2. Degree Requirement All CGA students are required to obtain a bachelor's degree prior to certification as a CGA. While a degree is not an entrance requirement to the CGA program, CGA students should meet the degree requirement prior to beginning PACE Level studies. The degree may be from any approved post-secondary degree-granting institution and may be obtained in any field of study. 2 There are two ways to satisfy the CGA degree requirement: Have a degree from outside Canada? Enter the program with a degree Equivalent international degrees may also meet the degree requirement. Submit your transcripts and degree certificate through the advanced standing process to see if your degree satisfies the requirement. Students entering the program with a degree from a CGArecognized Canadian or international institution will satisfy the degree requirement. In addition, courses taken in many degree programs may also be eligible for exemptions in CGA courses in Levels One through Four. The degree requirement and exemptions are determined in the program's advanced standing application process. Complete a degree concurrently with your CGA studies For students entering the CGA program without a bachelor's degree, CGA offers an exclusive post-secondary partnership with Laurentian University providing students in the program with an innovative way to complete an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree concurrently with their CGA studies. The degree program courses are delivered in a similar format to the CGA courses: online and part-time. CGA jointly administers the degree courses, offering students an efficient and affordable option to achieve an accredited business degree and satisfying CGA's degree requirement. The focus of Laurentian's Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree program is to combine versatile management education and core business skills that compliment CGA's accounting and financial management professional studies. It provides students a breadth of highly relevant professional business competencies.
