  The Yellowstone River is the longest undammed river in the continental United States. Its name comes from the yellow sandstone cliffs on either side of it.   Yellowstone contains about one-half of the world's hydrothermal features. There are about 10,000 in the park, including more than 300 geysers.   Bison are the largest land mammals in North America. More than 3,000 bison roam the grasslands of Yellowstone year-round.
