ONE Who We Are Highline Public Schools is an ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse K-12 school system serving Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park, SeaTac, and White Center, Washington. Figures from the 2012-13 school year provide a snapshot of who our students are. • • • • • • • • • • Total enrollment: 18,300 Hispanic: 36 out of 100 White: 25 out of 100 Asian: 15 out of 100 Multiracial: 8 out of 100 Pacific Islander: 4 out of 100 Native American/Alaskan Native: 1 out of 100 Low income: 70 out of 100 Special Education: 11 out of 100 English Language Learners (ELL): 20 out of 100 Highline Public Schools has 38 schools: 18 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, 12 high schools, 1 skills center, and 1 early childhood center. Like many school districts across our state and nation, we have experienced dramatic shifts in student demographics, and our population is continually evolving. The chart below shows significant change over just the past three years.
