had available. This approach
worked to perfection as we
found a Shell station about
30 miles down the road that
had decent gas. Disaster
averted we continued our
journey, making it to Rock
Spring, WY by nightfall.
Reno, NV was the
destination for Day 3.
The trip there can best
be described as scenic,
featuring mountains, salt
flats, and desert. Going
down the mountains into
Salt Lake City provided
beautiful sights as well as
fast sweeping curves. Once
there we made a brief stop
at the Great Salt Lake.
Continuing west we happily
discovered the speed limit
increased to 80 mph. We
made quick work of the 80
mile drive to the Bonneville
Salt Flats, stopping there for
lunch as well as a photo opp
on the famed salt surface.
The landscape turned to
desert once we hit Nevada
