Everyone has their own ideas, preconceived, or through prior experience, with who Large Print readers are and what Large Print readers like to read. Those ideas seem to be pretty standard, even if we find demographics changing for other types of media. We assume things about the ages of Large Print readers, what they want in their books, and, probably most damaging, what they don't want. Many times, we are reluctant to step outside our routine, even if there are specific patron requests or inquiries into different types of literature. But, just as interest in things like the many romance sub-genres, urban fiction, urban fantasy have been increasing for regular print books, readers may also be looking for these same stories in Large Print. Large Print readers want to read the same things their fellow readers are finding and enjoying, and I look forward to helping them do exactly that. On a personal note . . . Prior to moving to Washington a few months ago, Robin was the fiction collection development librarian for the Indianapolis Public Library. She has worked in a variety of libraries, academic and public, in a variety of positions, from student assistant to librarian. The one thing that has been a constant throughout, however, is a love of reading. When she isn't working, or tweeting, or blogging, or reading, or at a conference focused on books, Robin is looking at the map and planning her next adventure.
